It’s all about the journey

I didn’t plan on working in television. Whether it was fate or luck (good or bad) or a coincidence that brought me here, I have decided to stay. After all, how could I complain: They give me time and a team and I get to go out and learn something about our world and the people that live in it. Then I come home and tell other people about it with images and sounds, music and words. For me, it’s always about the story. Passing that on between minds, cultures, generations and continents is my passion. I am happy to do so as a director, as a film-maker or as an editor, sifting through the footage another director has brought home and finding the archive material to pair it with. I’m a firm believer in teamwork and have found that my experience as a director can be an asset in supporting others in the post-production of their vision as well.

Thankfully, no one is asking me to choose between making films and recording live events with multi-camera setups. Both bring me joy, both have their unique challenges. So whether I’m on the road, in an OB-van or in the editing suite, as long as I’m looking at a well-framed shot I’m a happy camper.
